This charming Late 19th-century French advertising trade card features a delightful illustration on its front. Rendered in an 18th-century Rococo style, it depicts a lady in an elaborate gown and a gentleman in a garden scene, alongside a small dog and a classical bust. The phrase 'Le renard et le buste.' (The Fox and the Bust.) suggests a narrative.
The reverse side advertises 'Grans magasins de nouveautés' (Large Department Stores). It lists 'Fantaisie, Soierie, Châles et confections pour dames' (Fancy Goods, Silk, Shawls an women clothings.), 'Bonneterie, Lingeire, Mercerie' (Hosiery, Lingerie, Haberdashery), and a 'Rayon spécial de Deuil' (Special Mourning Department).
