This striking Late 19th-century trade card features a vivid illustration from Jonathan Swift's 'Gulliver's Travels.' The front depicts Gulliver, a giant figure in a top hat and red coat, surrounded by tiny Lilliputians examining his belongings, including a rifle, a spyglass, a pocket watch, and a sword. A French caption below reads: 'Gulliver ayant fait naufrage échoua dans l'île de Lilliput, l'Empereur de cette île fit aussitôt réquisitionner tous les objets lui appartenant.' (Gulliver, having been shipwrecked, landed on the island of Lilliput, the Emperor of this island immediately had all his belongings requisitioned.) The artwork utilizes rich colors and golden accents.

The reverse side serves as an advertisement for 'Chicorée Indigène Extra-Supérieure' (Superior Native Chicory) from 'Arlatte & Cie Cambrai.' It proudly lists 'DIPLOME D'HONNEUR, Exposition Universelle d'Anvers' (Honor Diploma, Antwerp Universal Exhibition) and '12 Médailles Or, Vermeil et Argent' (12 Gold, Vermeil, and Silver Medals), emphasizing the product's quality and accolades. The slogan boldly states, 'PAS DE BON CAFÉ POSSIBLE SANS LA CHICORÉE INDIGÈNE EXTRA-SUPÉRIEURE' (No Good Coffee Possible Without the Superior Native Chicory), highlighting chicory's importance as a coffee substitute or additive during the period.
