This listing presents two vintage advertising chromos from the renowned French brand, Chocolat-Louit. Founded in Bordeaux in 1825, the company pioneered chocolate manufacturing and innovative marketing. Distributed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these collectible trade cards were popular promotional items. They offer a fascinating glimpse into the commercial art and advertising strategies of that era, reflecting cultural interests.

The first chromo portrays an enchanting winter landscape, framed within an ornate, white scroll-like border. The central image shows a serene snowy scene with delicate bare trees, possibly a frozen pond, and hints of red berries. Its textured dark green background is adorned with bird silhouettes, enhancing the tranquil winter atmosphere. 'Chocolat-Louit.' is neatly printed at the bottom.

The second chromo depicts a different, equally evocative winter vista. A snow-covered path winds through a rural setting towards distant village buildings, including a quaint church steeple. A large, majestic gnarled tree, its branches stark against the pale winter sky, dominates the foreground. A rustic wooden fence runs alongside the snowy road. This card also prominently displays 'Chocolat - Louit.' at its base.

Both cards exemplify detailed chromolithography popular then, characterized by rich colors and intricate designs. They remain in good condition for their age, showing typical charming wear expected from antique paper ephemera. These pieces are more than just old advertisements, they are small works of art and historical artifacts, reflecting daily life and commerce from the late Victorian period.
