A charming pair of authentic French communion menus from the mid-1940s, offering a glimpse into post-war family celebrations.

The first menu is from the First Communion of Roger, held in Saint-Mars-d’Égrenne on May 30, 1945. It lists a festive dinner featuring Consommé Mousseline, Langue de Bœuf Sauce Piquante, Salmis de Canetons, Dindonneau, Salade de Saison, followed by Crème Diplomate, Pièce Montée, Assorted Cakes, Fruit Cups, Wines, Coffee, and Liqueurs.

The second menu comes from the First Communion of Gérard, dated May 26, 1946. It includes both lunch and dinner menus. The Déjeuner features Ham Rolls, Poulets Sauce Veloutée, Paupiettes de Veau Braisées, Gigot de Pré-Salé, Brioche Mousseline, Fine Wines, Coffee Normand, and Liqueurs. The Dîner includes Potage Velouté, Salmis de Canards, Dindonneau sur Tapis Vert, Crème Vanille, Gâteau des Communiants, Petits Fours, and Liqueurs. At the bottom, a handwritten dedication adds to its personal charm.

These menus are printed on cardstock with elegant typography and subtle decorative elements, showing light wear, stains, and inscriptions consistent with their age.
