This collection comprises five French religious cards, often referred to as holy cards or prayer cards, dating primarily from the 1940s. These devotional items feature diverse Catholic imagery and serve as cherished souvenirs of spiritual milestones and figures.
Among the cards, one depicts the apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes with the date '25 Mars 1858' (March 25, 1858) and the phrase 'Je suis l'Immaculée Conception' (I am the Immaculate Conception). Another card features 'Ste Thérèse de l'Enfant-Jésus' (Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus), including her words: 'A moi, Il a donné, sa miséricorde infinie!...' (To me, He has given His infinite mercy!). A relief-style card dedicated to 'Sancta Teresia a Jesu Infante. Ora Pro Nobis.' (Saint Teresa of the Infant Jesus. Pray for us.) is also present.
The lot also includes First Communion souvenir cards, with specific dates such as '15 Mai 1947' (May 15, 1947) and '13 Mai 1945' (May 13, 1945), bearing messages like 'Souvenez-vous toujours de ce Jour radieux entre tous.' (Always remember this radiant Day above all others.). Another card illustrates 'Les Disciples d'Emmaüs' (The Disciples of Emmaus), featuring the quote 'O Seigneur, bienheureux celui que vous instruisez vous-même !' (O Lord, blessed is he whom you instruct yourself!).
These cards represent a poignant connection to faith and personal history.
