1930s - 2 Vintage French Catholic Holy Cards - Confirmation Souvenir Leaflet - Religious Ephemera Art - Devotional Collectible

This collection of French religious items includes two holy cards from the 1930s.

The first card features a black and white illustration of the Virgin Mary and Infant Jesus with a kneeling devotee, framed by golden ornamentation. It bears the French quote: 'Jésus vient à nous avec ses grâces et ses faveurs, allons à lui avec toute notre foi et tout notre amour. (P. de Ravignan)' (English: 'Jesus comes to us with His graces and His favors, let us go to Him with all our faith and all our love. (P. de Ravignan)').

The second, vividly colored holy card depicts a Confirmation ceremony in a church, with a bishop conferring the sacrament upon children. Its French text reads: 'LA CONFIRMATION. Je vous marque du Signe de la Croix et je vous Confirme avec le Chrême du Salut, au nom du Père et du Fils et du Saint-Esprit. Ainsi soit-il.' (English: 'THE CONFIRMATION. I mark you with the Sign of the Cross and I Confirm you with the Chrism of Salvation, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.').
