This exquisite antique French dinner menu, dated March 30, 1921, offers a fascinating glimpse into the refined gastronomy of the early twentieth century. It was printed for the Restaurant Chandivert in Caen and bears the mark of the printer Boisselet – P. Bellivet, Caen. The menu is elegantly designed, featuring a delicate decorative frame, a floral garland motif, and a central monogram in ornate style, evoking the charm and sophistication of post-Belle Époque dining culture.

The dinner itself reflects the culinary traditions and luxury of the time. The selection begins with Coquille de Foie Gras au Beurre and Filets de Sole Pépín, followed by Ris de Veau Bouquetière and Suprême de Volaille Vallée d’Auge, regional dishes that highlight the richness of French cuisine. More elaborate courses such as Pintadon en Volière (young guinea fowl), Langouste Vénitienne (Venetian-style lobster), and Corbeilles de Fruits Glacés demonstrate the variety and opulence expected at formal banquets. To conclude, guests were served friandises, coffee, and liqueurs.

The wine list is equally remarkable, featuring prestigious names such as Château Yquem, Château Margaux 1904, Musigny, Graves and Médoc in carafe, alongside Champagne Saint-Marceaux. This combination of rare wines and refined dishes makes the menu a precious document of French culinary heritage.

Perfect for collectors of antique menus, food historians, or anyone passionate about French gastronomy, this 1921 menu is not only a decorative piece but also a cultural artifact capturing the art of dining at its finest.
