This charming lot includes three chromo advertising cards, each featuring a reproduction of a famous painting from the Louvre Museum, dating back to the early 20th century. One card prominently advertises 'Chicorée Arlatte, Cambrai' (Chicory Arlatte, Cambrai), displaying Alexandre Roslin's 'Jeune Fille' (Young Girl). The reverse of this card provides biographical details about the artist.

Another card promotes 'Petitjean, Pain d'Épices, Dijon' (Petitjean, Gingerbread, Dijon) and showcases Johannes Vermeer's celebrated 'La Dentellière' (The Lacemaker). Its back offers historical information about the artwork, including that 'Ce tableau faisait partie de la collection de Napoléon III et a été acquis en 1870' (This painting was part of the Napoleon III collection and was acquired in 1870). The third chromo features a 'Portrait de Van Dyck' (Portrait of Van Dyck) from the Flemish School. These collectible trade cards are wonderful examples of early advertising and art promotion.
