This offering features a pair of antique French religious cards from the 1900s. One commemorates a First Communion on June 14, 1908, for Suzanne Leturc at Alençon's Saint-Pierre-de-Montsort Church, as a 'Souvenir de la Première Communion' (Souvenir of the First Communion).

The illustrated Communion card shows a solemn moment: a priest administering a sacrament to a kneeling young woman and boy, framed by delicate floral designs. It includes the French inscription: 'La Foi, la Prière et l'action de grâces, voilà le principe, le moyen et le fruit de notre union avec Jésus' (Faith, Prayer, and thanksgiving, that is the principle, the means, and the fruit of our union with Jesus), attributed to Bossuet. The second card depicts 'L'Assomption de la Sainte Vierge' (The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary) with cherubs amidst clouds.

These unique religious ephemera offer a glimpse into early 20th-century French Catholic tradition. Their value makes them ideal for vintage art collectors or for creative projects like junk journals and scrapbooks, providing an authentic piece of history and faith.
