This exquisite pair of early 20th-century French greeting cards features beautiful botanical illustrations and spiritual messages.
One card, titled 'Heureuse Année' (Happy New Year), displays a winding vine adorned with green leaves and dark berries, evoking a sense of renewal and nature's bounty. (May God fill you in this new Year with his tenderest blessings. Abbé Perreyve.)
The second card presents 'Souhaits de Bonheur' (Wishes of Happiness) with delicate thistles and foliage elegantly framing the central message. (May the Lord be with you, in your joys to sanctify them, in your desires to make them fruitful, in your sorrows to console them.)
Both cards were published by 'Maison Bouasse-Lebel — Lecène & Cie' in Paris, renowned for their religious and artistic stationery, reflecting the devotional sentiment prevalent during the period.
