Bernardeau business in Chinon. These charming advertising pieces, likely dating from the Late 19th century, are part of a series illustrating elements.

One card depicts 'La Terre' (The Earth), showing people engaged in pottery-making, with one individual shaping a large pot while others work nearby. The scene beautifully portrays traditional craftsmanship related to the earth element.

The second card, titled 'L'Eau' (The Water), presents a playful scene where children interact with water. One girl pours water from a pitcher, another is at a well, and a boy runs in the foreground, seemingly splashed.

These vibrant chromolithographs were designed to promote 'Conserves Alimentaires' (Food Preserves), specifically mentioning a 'Spécialité de pois au beurre' (Specialty of peas with butter) on their reverse. Printed by Kahn in Paris, these cards offer a captivating glimpse into historical French advertising and daily life.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0939/8491/5804/files/IMG_5770_52da04ac-04a3-42a4-a5ed-de24b62c4cf7.jpg?v=1764605995
https://www.authentic-wonders.com/products/late-19th-2-vintage-trade-cards-french-advertising-ephemera-water-earth-allegories-antique-french-collectible
